As of today, 18 January, an important change has come into force for all smokers.
Shops may no longer stock their favourite nicotine products.
According to Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, all products with a so-called characterising flavour, the so-called heated tobacco inserts, have disappeared from sales. In practice, this means that tobacco products manufactured and placed on the market after 18 January 2026, which contain fruit, menthol or other flavours, will be unavailable.
Retailers still have 9 months to sell their stock.
This is already another change of this kind in recent years. In May 2020, menthol cigarettes disappeared from shops, and now their heated tobacco equivalents are disappearing. The next target may well be so-called e-liquids for e-cigarettes.
