The singer and entrepreneur Konrad Skolimowski, known as Skolim, has since today used at his fuel station in Cheremsze a margin of only 1 cent per litre. Thanks to this, the local station currently offers the cheapest fuel in the area, and according to the owner – one of the lowest margins in the country.
The decision was announced by Skolim himself in a short recording in which he pointed to rising fuel prices in Poland. "I can see the price of fuel rising when travelling through Poland. For the sake of our customers from Cheremcha, we are now introducing a 1 cent margin on fuel. Also the lowest fuel in Cheremsze. For those who have gas stoves and use a gas bottle, I am starting today with gas bottles at the price of PLN 59" - he said.
The pink SKOLIM station in Cheremsze (podlaskie province) has distinguished itself from the beginning of its activity by attractive prices and distinctive tropical decor. The owner regularly emphasizes that he wants to support local residents and drivers from all over Poland who decide to come to Czeremchy. In addition to fuel with a minimum margin, it also offers 11 litre gas cylinders in the promotion for 59 PLN.
Information quickly spread on social media. Internet users praise the initiative of a small entrepreneur who, contrary to the trend of rising prices, decided to lower the margin to a symbolic level. Some jokingly suggest that Skolim be president of a larger fuel network.
The station operates daily and accepts customers without having to have discount cards – prices are the same for everyone. Skolim invites all volunteers to the Podlase, stressing that it works "as fast as possible" in the interests of customer portfolios.
We must remember that despite Skolim's very good intentions, this is his marketing action. The price of gas fuels and cylinders is of course true, but not sustainable in a real big fuel business. Skolim thanks to owning his own gas station spends just less on marketing – gaining very good results in an alternative way.
