35-year-old pulled in by an aircraft engine in Italy [FILM]

On July 8, 2025, at Orio al Serio Airport in Bergamo, near Milan, a tragic event occurred in which a 35-year-old man was sucked in by the engine of the flying aircraft Airbus A319 of the Volotea line, preparing to fly to Asturias, Spain.

He planned to take his own life.

The victim was Andrea Russo, a construction worker from Calcinate. According to Italian media, Russo probably deliberately entered the runway with the intention of taking his own life. He made his way to the airport, ran over the car, abandoned it near the terminal, and then forced the door into the restricted zone. Despite attempts to stop him by security, he managed to get close to the plane and was pulled in by the engine.

At the time of the tragedy, there were 154 passengers on board the aircraft who were waiting for the launch. The pilots immediately responded by giving passengers a warning and asking them not to look through the windows. Witnesses reported strong noise, vibration, and chaos on board, and cabin crew had the windows covered to limit the sight of the incident.

A Difficult Past 35-Year-Old

Andrea Russo has faced problems in the past, such as drug addiction, but in recent years he has tried to rebuild his life by doing minor maintenance work. Friends described him as a good man and a sensitive man. As a result of the engine pull, the man died instantly. This dramatic event shook both airport personnel and passengers and the local community.
