How to read NBP courses? Practical Guide
The NBP average course is the official reference course published each working day — This is not the rate at which you buy currency in a bank or cantore, but the reference point used, among others, for accounting and tax settlements. The bid rate is the price at which the bank buys currency from you, so that's what you get in gold by giving dollars, for example. The sales rate (ask) is the price at which the bank sells the currency to you — always higher than the purchase rate, and this difference, called spread, is the earnings of a financial institution. When you go to the exchange office or send a foreign transfer, pay attention to the sales rate, because it is its value that you will actually pay for the foreign currency.

Currency Trivia of the Day
Israel Shekel (ILS) is one of the youngest currencies in the world — it was introduced only in 1986 as a so-called new shekel, replacing an earlier shekel affected by hyperinflation. Despite its brief history, shekel is today considered one of the most stable currencies of the Middle East, and the Bank of Israel actively manages its course to promote export competitiveness. Today we will pay PLN 1,2126 for one shekel, which ranks it clearly above many regional currencies.
