The perpetrator of Saturday’s attack in Krakow last visited the shooting range of the club he belonged to in August, said Adam Chyb, a club representative. He insists that the club does not conduct combat or tactical shooting.
What the club says
Adam Chyb, speaking to Onet, stressed that the club does not conduct and has never conducted „any combat, tactical or dynamic shooting”. According to him, the only thing the attacker could have learned there was sport, stationary shooting at a target. The target is said to be digital, and human silhouettes, as he noted, are out of the question.
Sports Club „Swit” from Starachowice
Statements from club representatives, also given to other media outlets, indicate that the club in question is Sports Club „Swit” from Starachowice. The attacker was reportedly a member and visited the range twice this year. The club says it noticed no worrying behaviour, and in a statement it expressed condolences to the families of the victims and described its activity as sport shooting in stationary disciplines.
Club membership and possession of a sport firearms permit so far come from the club’s statements and media findings. The prosecutor’s office and police have not officially disclosed where the attacker obtained his weapon or how he prepared.
