The partner of Łukasz Litewka in the podcast Żurnalista does not bite in the tongue. Natalia Bacławska speaks plainly about what she would expect from the driver who killed her beloved.
In a short passage of the announcements of the episode Natalia Bacławska referred to the attitude of the 57-year-old driver. "If I were at the scene of the person who killed the other person, the first thing I would do, I would come to my family on my knees (...) while this man starts making a sacrifice of himself," she said.
What happened on April 23, 2026
Łukasz Litewka, a New Left MP known for helping animals and people, rode his bike in Dąbrowa Górnicza. A car driven by a 57-year-old pulled over to the opposite lane and hit a parliamentarian. Litweka died instantly. The driver claimed he had temporarily passed out. He heard the charge of inadvertently causing a fatal accident.
Natalia Bacławska stressed from the beginning that she wanted the truth first. She repeatedly asked for a fair investigation and warned against conspiracy theories and misinformation.
The words that hurt the most
In the podcast of Żurnalist Bacławska does not hide emotion. It compares the perpetrator's behavior to what she would have expected in such a situation. According to her, a normal reaction would be to confess and contact the victim's family. Instead, as he estimates, the driver builds the victim's narrative.
What's next on the case?
The investigation is still ongoing. The driver initially went to jail, later was released on a property guarantee. Natalia Bacławska consistently reiterates that she will not give up the explanation of all circumstances.
At the same time he continues the work of Litevka. Together with his family, he takes care of the foundation and initiatives that were close to his fellow Member – especially animal aid. Recently, she even spoke at the Parliamentary Animal Protection Commission.
