After a months-long media battle, the court has finally put an end to the matter. On Wednesday, 6 May 2026, the District Court in Łódź issued a ruling in the high-profile child support case concerning the payments Krzysztof Rutkowski is required to make for his 17-year-old illegitimate son Aleksander.
Judge Robert Adamczyk decided to increase the child support from 2,000 to 3,000 zloty per month. The boy’s mother, Natasza Zych, had demanded as much as 30,000 zloty per month, but the court found this amount completely disproportionate to the child’s actual needs.
In the justification of the ruling, the judge clearly pointed to the detective’s financial situation: Krzysztof Rutkowski has a low pension, and his current savings amount to just 6,000 zloty.
Rutkowski himself commented on the ruling as “fair”, stressing that the court had taken into account the real financial capacity and the standard of living of the child.
The dispute over child support had been going on for a long time and was full of emotion, with both sides not holding back harsh words either in the courtroom or in the media. Aleksander’s mother repeatedly stressed that the father leads a completely different lifestyle from what her son can afford.
Now, after the ruling has been announced, Krzysztof Rutkowski’s child support case has finally reached its conclusion. The detective will pay 3,000 zloty per month for his son.
