Roma wedding Vika Gabor in Kraków. Secret Details of the Ceremony Revealed

Viki Gabor, an 18-year-old Polish singer with Roma roots, became a protagonist of loud reports about the wedding according to the Roma tradition. The information came out thanks to a video released by Bogdan Trojank, leader of the Roma music band. The ceremony took place in Krakow, and the bride and groom were Viki and Giovanni Trojanek, Bogdan's grandson. The event quickly ran social media, but lacked official confirmation from the artist.

Wedding Details

The wedding took place on Saturday in Krakow, according to Roma tradition. Bogdan Trojanek confirmed this in the video on which he stands next to the bride and groom. He stated that Viki and Giovanni "were married according to the Roma tradition" and "did not break Roma law, they fled with each other, just as their grandparents, great-grandparents." He added that Giovanni is now part of the Viki family and she is part of the Trojan family. After the ceremony, the couple went to Vika's parents and grandparents, and Trojanek announced a "gypsy, beautiful wedding". The video shows three people outside, probably in front of a hotel or restaurant – Viki in a bright fur coat, Giovanni in a black coat, and Bogdan in a red shirt.

It is worth noting that the Roma wedding has no legal force in Poland. To be valid, it requires registration with the Civil State Office.

Who's Viki Gabor?

Viki Gabor, actually Victoria Gabor, was born on July 10, 2007 in Hamburg. She is a Polish singer, songwriter and composer of Roma origin. She became famous for winning Eurovision Junior 2019 with the song "Superhero". She has Roma roots she speaks of proudly – her family comes from the Roma community, and she emphasizes it in interviews. She was raised in Nowa Huta, Cracow, but after her 18th birthday she planned to move. She's never revealed the details of her personal life before.

Roma traditions in the context of the event

Roma tradition includes the often arranged or simulated "kidnapped" bride, after which the couple spends the night together, symbolizing the marriage. Viki Gabor has commented on the stereotypes of Roma in the past, stressing that not all stories about their customs are true. Bogdan Trojanek, a well-known artist promoting Roma culture, comes from a multigenerational musical family, which can connect him with Vika through common roots.

No confirmation

Viki Gabor did not comment officially. Shortly after the release, she posted a promotional post on Instagram with a fragment of the song: "Today I am where your sight will never reach." The lack of a position from the artist's management fuels speculation, whether it is a real marriage or an element of cultural promotion.

Update

Bogdan Trojanek added a new film from the wedding ceremony.

"What was to happen. Death and Wife of God tried Viki Gabor and My Grandson Giovani Trojanek Husband and wife according to our right Romanipen" — Bogdan Trojanek, grandfather of the groom

The films have just been removed. Fortunately, nothing gets lost on the Internet.
