Euro (EUR)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,2534

The euro rate is approaching levels that have been local minima in recent weeks, which means that gold is systematically recovering losses towards the single European currency. When exchanging EUR 500 in the cantore, it is worth checking that the offered course does not differ significantly from the NBP course, which is always a good benchmark.

US Dollar (USD)
Average rate NBP: PLN 3,6396
Purchase rate: 3,6038 PLN | Sales rate: PLN 3,6766
The dollar rate continues to drop gradually, which has been observed since the beginning of this week — still on April 2, the dollar cost PLN 3.7195, which means a clear improvement for the Polish gold. Purchase rate: PLN 4,8366 | Sales rate: PLN 4,9344

People who work in the UK and send money to their family in Poland may notice that the conversion of the withdrawal into gold is today slightly lower than a few days ago. The spread between the purchase and sale rate is over 97 cents, which is worth considering when planning to exchange larger amounts.

Swiss franc (CHF)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,6062
Purchase rate: PLN 4,5647 | Sales rate: PLN 4,6569
Swiss franc remains at a high level, although like other major currencies it has slightly lost value compared to gold compared to the beginning of the week. For persons repaying loans denominated or indexed in francs, this rate shall be directly translated into instalments — Every penny of difference with large amounts makes a significant difference. Czech koruna course remains stable — We'll pay less than 17.5 cents for one crown today. How to read NBP courses? Practical Guide

The NBP average rate, published in Table A, is the official reference course — It is used, among other things, for tax settlements, valuation of contracts or foreign transfers carried out by banks. If you want to physically buy or sell currency in a cantore or bank, you are interested in the odds from Table C — the bid rate is the price at which the institution buys currency from you and the ask rate is the price at which it sells it to you, always higher than the purchase rate. The difference between these two odds, called spread, is simply a margin of a currency or bank for handling transactions — the smaller the spread, the more favorable the exchange. Before you go to the exchange office, check the NBP course as a benchmark — If the course offered differs significantly from the value from Table A, it is worth looking for another offer.
