The incident occurred in Wrocław this morning. The coach fainted during individual running training. An immediate attempt was made to resuscitate and then transported to the Military Clinical Hospital, but the doctors failed to save his life. According to the media, the cause of death was sudden cardiac arrest.

Jacek Jan Magiera was born on January 1, 1977 in Czestochowa. As a footballer, he grew up in Rakowa Częstochowa, later he played in the Legia Warszawa and Śląsk Wrocław, with which he reached for the runner-up of Poland. After his professional career ended, he devoted himself to training – he led youth representations of Poland, as well as clubs of Ekstraklasa, including Śląsk Wrocław.

Since July 2025, he served as the second coach of the first national team. In Jan Urban's staff he was responsible for tactical preparation and work with players.

In his official release he wrote: "The Polish Football Union with deep sadness and great regret took the news of the death of Jack Magiera, the second Polish team coach. The family, friends and close Jack Magiera of the Polish Academy of Sciences expresses his deepest sympathy."

Jack Magiera's death caused a huge shock in the entire Polish football community. Many players, coaches and activists stressed that he was not only a competent trainer, but above all a wonderful man. The family's condolences have already been submitted by the president of PZPN Cezary Kulesza and representatives of clubs where Magiera worked.
