How to read NBP courses? Practical Guide
The NBP rates are divided into two types: the average rate from the table A and purchase and sales rates from Table C. The average rate is the reference point used, among other things, for tax and customs settlements, while in the canto or bank you will pay for the currency at the selling rate, which is higher than the purchase rate. When you sell a currency, a bank or a currency buys it at the purchase rate, which is lower. The difference between the buy-and-sale rate, called spread, is the profit of the financial institution on the transaction, which is why it is always worth comparing bids of various exchangers with rates from Table C as a benchmark.

Currency Trivia of the Day
Yuan renminbi, or Chinese currency marked CNY code, is today valued at PLN 0.5281, which means that for one gold we get slightly less than two yuan. China has been pursuing a policy of controlled exchange rate for years, and the Chinese central bank has set daily so-called fixing, the official benchmark for yuan quotations, allowing fluctuations only by 2% in both directions. This makes the exchange rate of Chinese currency much more calm than the exchange rate of free-flowing currencies, such as the euro or the dollar, which is a conscious tool of Beijing's economic policy.
