MP Michał Kołodziejczak appeared at the Łódź branch of the Internal Security Agency (ABW) on Sunday, 11 October, accompanied by detective Krzysztof Rutkowski. Documents were submitted there in connection with accusations that his former female associates made against the former deputy minister of agriculture.
According to Polsat News, after leaving the building Kołodziejczak said that, despite his high psychological resilience, he was experiencing the matter very intensely and had never expected such false accusations. He also stressed that what happens “behind the doors” of the branch is what matters, not what happens in front of the cameras. A lawyer also accompanied him.
What Rutkowski Reported
Rutkowski told reporters that he represents a politician who had approached him about this matter as early as 4 September. According to Interia and “Do Rzeczy”, the documents were delivered to the ABW in Łódź and to the District Police Headquarters in Jawor. The detective spoke of a notification concerning pathostreaming, while Interia reports that Kołodziejczak reported a suspected crime to his own detriment, involving being forced into a specific behaviour. Rutkowski announced that he will be a witness in this case because he has “relevant materials”. Details are to be presented at a briefing announced for the Sejm.
Why the Case Attracts Attention
The visit follows a publication by the portal Zero.pl, in which the politician’s former female associates accused him of aggression, physical violence and threats. According to the portal, one of the women had an intimate relationship with him, and both were said to have also spoken about the alleged drug use of the MP. These are allegations from media reports. So far, no institution has confirmed them, and the politician has denied them, describing them as false accusations. The presumption of innocence applies.
Kołodziejczak is a former deputy minister of agriculture and, as “Do Rzeczy” reports, has been suspended from the KO parliamentary club. As of Sunday, he had not commented on the publication.
What Comes Next
As of publication, neither the ABW nor the police have announced the opening of any proceedings or their scope. The next step is to be the briefing in the Sejm, at which Rutkowski and Kołodziejczak are to present the details of the notification and the materials. Only the law enforcement authorities will decide whether to open proceedings and on what matter: the accusations against the MP, his own notification, or both.
What It Means
For readers, this is for now a dispute between two narratives: the Zero.pl publication and the notifications filed by the MP. Any prosecutorial action against the MP would require consideration of parliamentary immunity, a decision that would rest with the Sejm. For now, nothing suggests such steps have been taken.
