We've got three intense days of 2025. Thousands of students across Poland have already faced exams in Polish, mathematics and foreign language. Did this year’s sheets really prove difficult? We're checking how seniors evaluate the level of questions and which tasks have caused them the biggest problem.
What did the first days of 2025 look like?
Matura 2025 traditionally began with an exam from Polish language, then students joined mathematics, and on the third day to the modern foreign language. Each of these exams is compulsory and to pass your GED, you need to score a minimum of 30% of each of them.
This year, students also had to choose an additional subject at the extended level, which does not require the point threshold to be exceeded.
Were the questions difficult?
Mathematics – basic level
It is mathematics that often inspires the most emotions. According to the relations of students from Krakow and surrounding areas, this year's math exam was moderately easy for most of them.
The most challenging challenge was the students' final optimization task, but most senior students estimate that the exam was predictable and not diverged from the previous years.
Polish and foreign language
In the case of Polish language, students used open questions published by the CKE, which facilitated the preparation. For some seniors the Polish exam was more difficult than math, especially if they did not feel confident in the analysis of literary texts.
Modern (most often English) foreign language is traditionally considered the least stressful among compulsory exams. Many students emphasize that the tasks were similar to those of earlier years and did not cause them much difficulty.
What was the hardest of the students?
The most votes for difficulties were:
- Math Optimization Tasks
- Open tasks requiring self- reason
- Developments from Polish, especially for people less interested in literature
However, a large group of seniors feel that school tests were more difficult than graduation.
Was this year's high school high school hard?
In summary, the first three days of the 2025 Matur, most students considered the level of examinations to be moderate and predictable. Well-prepared seniors should have no problem getting the required 30%. The most emotions were caused by individual, more complex tasks, but they did not affect the overall evaluation of exams.
It's worth remembering that matura is not only a test of knowledge, but also of resistance to stress. Everyone experiences it differently – for some it is a formality, for others a real challenge. We keep our fingers crossed for all seniors in the following days of exams!
