Trade ban on Sunday – what is worth knowing?
The ban on trade on Sunday has been in force in Poland since 2018 and has been introduced gradually. Currently most Sundays a year are non-trade days, and exceptions — or trade Sundays — are strictly defined in the regulations. In 2026 there are exactly 10 such exceptions. Among other things, fuel stations, pharmacies, bakeries, shops at airports, railway and bus stations, as well as shops run by the owner in person, are exempt. Online purchase is always possible — the prohibition applies only to fixed commercial establishments employing workers.
