Trade ban on Sunday – what is worth knowing?

The ban on trade on Sunday has been in force in Poland since 2018 and with each subsequent year has been gradually tightened, until the form we know today. The Act allows a certain number of commercial Sundays per year — in 2026 there are exactly 10 of them and are pre-defined in the regulations. The prohibition does not apply to all establishments — It includes fuel stations, pharmacies, shops at airports and stations, bakeries, florists, souvenir shops and shops operated directly by the owner. Online shops also operate without restrictions, so online shopping can be done around the clock, seven days a week.
