There's an expert opinion on the Kadłub killer.

The Opole District Attorney's Office informed on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 of receiving a key opinion from psychiatrists and psychologists in the case of 17-year-old Luke G., a suspect in a brutal double homicide in Kadłub. Experts clearly stated that at the time of the crime, the teenager had a fully preserved ability to recognize the meaning of his actions and direct his actions. This means that Luke G. is fully sane and will respond criminally as an adult.

A team of experts, composed of two psychiatrists and a psychologist, conducted several outpatient examinations of the suspect. After their completion, he gave a clear opinion. "It follows that Luke G. at the time of his act had a fully preserved ability to recognize his meaning and to guide his course. At the same time, the suspect had developmental and personality disorders" – handed over to the District Attorney's Office in Opole.

The expert opinion is of fundamental importance for the continuation of the case. It allows the prosecution to continue criminal proceedings in normal mode. Łukasz G. will answer for two murders with particular cruelty – he is facing a penalty of not less than 15 years imprisonment and a maximum of 30 years. Due to his age (17 years old at the time of the act), he cannot be sentenced to life imprisonment.

Let us remind you that a 17-year-old man from Kadłub killed his 38-year-old stepfather and 87-year-old great-grandmother with an axe and a hammer on the night of February 25–26, 2026. After the crime, he recorded the course of the attack and then posted on the Internet his own statement, in which he confessed and stated, among others, that "in my opinion, murder is part of life." He was detained after a few hours of manhunt in the scrubs over the Perch, about 45 km from the site of the tragedy. He had previously fully admitted guilt, described in detail the course of the crime during the local vision and interrogations, and the tox screen showed that he was sober at the time of the act and was not under the influence of any psychoactive substances.

Now, after receiving a positive psychiatric-psychological opinion for the investigation, the prosecution can prepare an indictment. The case will go to the Opolskie Rifles District Court. The experts did not find insanity or lifted sanity – despite the diagnosed developmental and personality disorders, Łukasz G. fully understood what he was doing, and was able to control his behavior.

The case of a 17-year-old man from Kadłub remains one of the most shocking crimes of recent years in Opole. Now, after confirming his full sanity, he is facing a criminal trial that is likely to have ended with a long-standing prison sentence.
