There's been a tragic crime in Skawina. Four people were found in an apartment on Independence Street – including 8-day-old girl. According to preliminary police findings, the perpetrator is most likely a 35-year-old man who first murdered his wife, his mother-in-law and his newborn daughter, and then committed Suicide.
What exactly happened?
The tragedy occurred today, on Friday 3 July 2026. Around 3:14 p.m., the fire department received a report from a concerned man (an ed. child's grandfather), who had been unable to contact his loved ones for a long time. He called and knocked on the apartment door, He heard the phone ringing inside, but no one answered.
Firefighters arrived at the site in no time (only 4 minutes). Because the apartment was on the second floor, they used a sliding ladder to look through the window. Then they noticed blood. Four bodies were revealed inside:

- 27 years old women (child's mother),
- 59 years old women (Baby's grandmother),
- 35-year-old male (father of a child and husband of a 27-year-old).
All the people had injuries on the body.
Police: "We're dealing with a crime"
A spokesman for the Lesser Polish police, Katarzyna Cisło, confirmed:
"We are dealing with a crime. We don't rule out extended suicide, but that's what we're doing. Among the victims is an 8-day girl."
