Dua Lipa filed a lawsuit against Korean giant Samsung Electronics. British-Albanian singer accuses the company of illegally using its image and image on cardboard TV packaging.
The case concerns the packaging of one of Samsung TV models, on which, according to the lawsuit, a photo or graphic very strongly resembles Du Lipa. The star claims that it has never agreed to such use of its image, and Samsung has not entered into any license agreement with it.
The lawsuit was filed in a Los Angeles court. Dua Lipa demands compensation of several million dollars for violating the rights to the image and for unauthorised use of its person for marketing purposes.
The vocalists emphasize that Dua Lipa is very strict about her image and brand, especially after she has repeatedly fought for control of her image in the past.
Samsung hasn't released an official comment on the case yet. The company often uses celebrity images in advertising campaigns, but in this case it is about product packaging – which is a much rarer and more controversial practice.
This is not the first such thing in the industry – in recent years several stars have sued large brands for unauthorized use of their faces or silhouettes. The Dua Lipa vs Samsung case can become one of the loudest celebrity trials of 2026.
We are waiting for further developments.
