Exchange rates of NBP – 1 April 2026
Key exchange rates today
Euro (EUR)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,2874
Purchase rate: PLN 4,2478 | Sales rate: PLN 4,3336
The euro rate remains close to PLN 4.28–4.29, which means relative stability of the single currency over the last week. For people going to the euro area — whether on holiday to Italy, shopping in Germany or on business trip to France — This means that for 1000 euro today about PLN 4 287 must be prepared at the average rate. The difference between the purchase and sales rate in the C NBP table is less than 86 grosz, which is worth keeping in mind when exchanging cash.
US Dollar (USD)
Average rate NBP: PLN 3,6972
Purchase rate: PLN 3,6833 | Sales rate: PLN 3,7577
The USD rate of PLN 3,6972 means a clear weakening of the US currency against the levels from the turn of March and the beginning of the week, when the USD exceeded PLN 3,72–3.74. For people buying goods in U.S. online shops or planning to travel to the US, this is practical information — The dollar is cheaper today than it was a few days ago. The spread between the purchase and sales rate in Table C is about 7.4 cents.
Pound sterling (GBP)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,9131
Purchase rate: PLN 4,8845 | Sales rate: PLN 4,9831
The pound of sterling is valued at PLN 4,9131 today, which places it clearly below the level of PLN 4,95 observed last week. For Poles working or living in the UK and sending money to the country, this means that every thousand pounds is converted into just over PLN 4,913. The spread table is slightly below one gold, which is a typical value for this currency.
Swiss franc (CHF)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,6587
Purchase rate: 4,6062 PLN | Sales rate: PLN 4,6992
Swiss franc, traditionally a safe haven, costs PLN 4,6587 today — slightly less than in the last few days of March, when it exceeded PLN 4,66–4,68. Those paying loans in francs or planning to go to Switzerland should follow these courses on an ongoing basis, as fluctuations in the order of a few cents may be relevant at larger amounts. The purchase and sales rate varies by about 93 groszy.
Czech koruna (CZK)
Average rate NBP: PLN 0,1748
Purchase rate: PLN 0,1733 | Sales rate: 0,1769 PLN
Today, the Czech Crown costs 0.1748 PLN, which means that for 1,000 Czech Crowns we will pay about 174.80 PLN. This currency is particularly interesting for those planning to go to the Czech Republic — This country remains one of the most popular destinations of weekend trips of Poles, and knowledge of the current course allows to better plan the travel budget.
Norwegian krone (NOK)
Average rate NBP: PLN 0,3823
Purchase rate: 0,3780 PLN | Sales rate: PLN 0,3856
The Norwegian Crown is valued at PLN 0.3823 today. For Poles working in Norway or considering a commercial trip to this Scandinavian country, the conversion factor is simple: a thousand Norwegian crowns are today about 382 gold. The rate of this currency shows little variation in the last week, oscillating in a narrow range.
Swedish krona (SEK)
Average rate NBP: PLN 0,3945
Purchase rate: PLN 0.3886 | Sales rate: 0,3964 PLN
The Swedish krona costs PLN 0.3945 today, which means that for a thousand Swedish krona we will pay about PLN 394.50. The rate of this currency remains exceptionally stable — over the entire last week, the fluctuations have been minimal, making it one of the more predictable Scandinavian currencies during that period.
How did the exchange rates change last week?
Euro (EUR)
Course today: PLN 4,2874 | Course 7 days ago: 4,2728 PLN | Amendment: +0.0146 PLN (+0.34%)
The euro has slightly increased compared to the gold in the last seven days, which means a delicate weakening of the Polish currency towards the single European currency.
US Dollar (USD)
Course today: PLN 3,6972 | Course 7 days ago: 3,6850 PLN | Amendment: +0.0122 PLN (+0.33%)
The dollar has strengthened slightly against the gold in weekly terms, although in the last few days it has clearly receded from levels above PLN 3.74, indicating a certain variation in the dollar rate during this period.
Pound sterling (GBP)
Course today: PLN 4,9131 | Course 7 days ago: 4,9388 PLN | Amendment: -0.0257 PLN (-0.52%)
Pound sterling stood within a week against gold — is one of the few major currencies that has clearly lost value to the Polish currency during this period.
Swiss franc (CHF)
Course today: PLN 4,6587 | Course 7 days ago: 4,6848 PLN | Amendment: -0.0261 PLN (-0.56%)
Swiss Frank has weakened against gold in the last week — is the largest percentage decrease of the four currencies analysed, which may be important information for market-watchers from the perspective of franc loans.
On a weekly basis, the picture of the foreign exchange market is mixed — The gold has slightly weakened against the euro and the dollar, but at the same time it has clearly gained value relative to the pound of sterling and Swiss franc. The most variable currency in this period was the US dollar, which over a week ranked both the peak above PLN 3.74 and the present level below PLN 3.70. The overall golden situation can be defined as stable with little variation in both directions.
Exchange rates are derived from the official NBP table and shall apply from the date of publication until the following working day.
How to read NBP courses? Practical Guide
The NBP rates are published in two main tables: Table A containing average courses and Table C containing purchase and sales courses. The average rate is the reference value — used, inter alia, for tax, accounting or transaction valuation — but it is not a rate at which a bank or currency will actually exchange currency. If you want to buy a currency, you will pay at a sales rate (ask) which is higher than the average rate; if you want to sell a currency, you will get a bid rate that is lower. The difference between buying and selling is called spread — the smaller the exchange conditions, the more favourable the exchange conditions, so it is always worth comparing the offers of different currency exchangers and banks before exchanging currencies.

Currency Trivia of the Day
Yuan renminbi, or Chinese national currency, is today valued by NBP at PLN 0.5378 — Which means one gold can theoretically get a little over 1.85 yuan. Interestingly, China has been running a controlled exchange rate policy for years, which means that the People's Bank of China actively manages the value of its currency in contrast to most countries where the exchange rate shapes the market. Yuan is one of the International Monetary Fund reserve currencies today — next to the dollar, euro, pound and yen — which reflects the growing role of the Chinese economy in the global financial system.
