Onet has published a journalistic investigation into the assets of people arrested in the Zondacrypto case. According to the outlet, these are dozens of companies and properties in Poland and abroad, some of which come from assets once considered to belong to Sylwester Suszek.
What Onet found
As Onet reports, the journalists followed the trail of assets belonging to people recently detained in the Zondacrypto case. According to the outlet, they found dozens of companies and properties in Poland and abroad: houses, apartments and plots of land, including a plot right next to the “Spodek” arena in Katowice. Onet claims that some of these assets were taken over from property once considered to belong to Sylwester Suszek. These findings come from a single newsroom and have not been confirmed by the prosecutor’s office.
What is known from the proceedings
Prosecutors had previously linked the case to the takeover of components of Suszek’s assets. As Polsat News reported, following a statement from the spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General, prosecutor Anna Adamiak, charges were brought against three detained persons: Anna P., Jaromir W. and Rafał Z. The proceedings were conducted by the Silesian Branch Office of the National Prosecutor’s Office.
Anna P. has been charged, among other things, with participating in an organised criminal group aimed at taking over components of Suszek’s assets. Prosecutors also accuse her of accepting a property in Katowice worth PLN 700,000, which allegedly caused losses to the operator of Zondacrypto, the company BB Trade Estonia. According to prosecutors, this had no economic justification, and the company’s financial condition was already very poor. The third charge concerns obstructing proceedings related to Suszek’s deprivation of liberty. The suspects have not admitted guilt.
What comes next
The charges concern people who are currently suspects, not convicted persons. As of publication, the prosecutor’s office had not publicly commented on Onet’s findings about the companies and the plots near the “Spodek”. Exchange clients whose funds are stuck may hope that the asset trail will help establish what happened to the assets, but decisions on securing anything rest with the prosecutor’s office and the court.
