"Tygodnik Solidarność" revealed shocking data of the State Labour Inspection for 2024, which show a huge scale of negligence on the Polish labour market. Of the 36,900 controlled foreigners, 7192 worked illegally. Every fifth foreign worker without a contract, without control and without any rights.
But it's just the tip of the iceberg. According to official statistics in Poland she works todayover a million foreigners. If you accept the same percentage as described in "Week Solidarity",In the gray area, there can be more than 200,000 people working of other origin. This is as much as the population of a large city in Poland.
How does that happen?
Platforms such as TikTok and Facebook are today full of job announcements for foreigners. Many have serious doubts about legality and fairness. Colorful videos and posts promise "easy work without formalities", "on-the-spot employment" or "the handling of documents" for a fee.Many intermediaries operate outside of any control, tempting people with offers that in practice end in exploitation and black work.It is on these social media that the grey recruitment zone flourishes – extremely dangerous for unconscious workers looking for a better life in Poland, but also for Poles themselves who pass on the streets of foreigners literally, who are excluded from the law."
Paradise for Janusz
In Poland, many companies knowingly employ foreigners in black, because that's just what pays them. This applies to different industries. From construction and agriculture, through cleaning, catering, industry, to food processing. Employers thus avoid contract costs, premiums and taxes, gaining an advantage over fair competition. The scale of the problem is visible.It is worth mentioning a loud incident from last year, when in the meat establishments in Małopolska during the inspection of several illegally working foreigners they hid in meat containers to avoid border guard control.Data of the State Labour Inspection for 2024 confirm that illegal employment of foreigners in Poland is not an exception, but a common practice that allows exploitation in the name of non-payment of taxes by entrepreneurs.
Immigrants and Security
On the night of 5 to 6 July 2025 in Nowe (Kujawsko-pomorskie) a 29-year-old Colombian from a meat plant stabbed 41-year-old Pole who died on the spot. The event was attended by nine Colombians and three Poles. On June 12, a 24-year-old Claudia of Toruń was attacked by a knife by a 19-year-old Venezuelan citizen and died after two weeks at the hospital. In the light of these developments, citizens are increasingly concerned about immigration.
These incidents, brutal and unnecessary, make you think. Recently, some politicians and activists have focused on convincing citizens that the biggest problem is immigrants from the German border.However, in the entire discussion we seem to overlook the important detail of the fact that the most uncontrolled immigration takes place for the purposes of avoiding the responsibility of entrepreneurs in Poland – they, together with the labour agencies, are responsible for creating a grey zone in Poland, which can already be compared with human trafficking, and for all the pathology resulting from this.This is not the kind of Poland that honest citizens want.
