Vogue announced the winner of the 2026 Dogue Cover Star competition. The elegant Italian chart Sir Spud defeated thousands of challengers and got his own digital cover. The judges judged not only the photo, but also the personality and natural "dogueness".
Dogue Cover Star 2026
For the second time, Vogue invited dog owners from all over the world to compete for the cover of the special release of Dogue. Applications came through the Vogue app. The owners had until August 4 to send the best shots of their pets.
Earlier edition attracted more than 56,000 photos. There were thousands of them this time. The judges elected 25 finalists, and then in the conference room they selected one winner. The criteria were clear:
- photo composition – 50%
- dog personality visible in the photo – 25%
- "dogueness", or this elusive dog chic – 25%
Sir Spud won thanks to the perfect pose and look that combined calm with curiosity.
Who is Sir Spud – Dogue 2026 winner
Sir Spud is an Italian greyhound. She lives with her nanny Amina in a bilingual home where she speaks English and French. His name was given to him by Catholic nuns. The family did not want to change it, but added the nickname Sputnik – in honor of the first satellite.
Amina says Sir Spud is very loyal and tender. He always wants to be close to people, preferably on his knees. He even sleeps with his front paws crossed – exactly as in the winning photo. It's his natural pose.
It also has its "human" and "dogs" features. He likes to chase cats, rabbits and squirrels. At the same time, it can extract treats from bags and backpacks like a professional pickpocket. It jumps to the height twice as big as itself, which often ends in disappearing food from the countertop.

The competition is only part of a larger project. In the Dogue 2026 edition there are also celebrity dogs. Among them:
- Sansa – Bad Bunny's Beagles, which ate spaghetti at a table of Ladybugs and Tramps
- Winnie – miniature poodle Millie Bobby Brown
- The hairless dogs of Lena Dunham
- other celebrities of the fashion world
Vogue shows that dogs have become full participants in popular culture. Not only do they accompany celebrities – they themselves become heroes of sessions, interviews and covers.
