The presidential elections in Poland, scheduled for 18 May 2025, are an important political event which attracts the attention of both citizens and international observers. These elections are not only an opportunity to select a new country leader, but also to reflect on Poland's future in a European and global context.
Conditions for participation in elections
The right to vote in the presidential elections in Poland is granted to citizens who will turn 18 at the latest on the day of the election and are not deprived of public rights. In order to participate in the vote, each voter must be included in the list of voters which is drawn up by municipal offices.
Voting at the place of permanent residence
Voters registered for permanent residence in a given municipality are automatically included in the census. Those who wish to vote elsewhere must apply for a change of venue.
Voting outside of residence
Voters staying temporarily outside the place of permanent check-in may apply for a change of venue from 4 April to 15 May 2025. Such a request can be made in writing or electronically via the gov.pl website.
Procedures for special groups of voters
- Soldiers and officers interred Persons engaged in military service or working in disbanded units shall be given the opportunity to vote at the place of service upon request.
- Voters in closed institutions People who reside in medical establishments, social services homes, prisons and detention centres will be able to vote in the electoral circuits established there.
Voting abroad
Polish citizens staying abroad may take part in the elections by applying for a change of voting place in Poland or obtaining a certificate of voting right from the consul.
