Trade ban on Sunday – what is worth knowing?
The ban on trade on Sunday has been in force in Poland since March 2018 and has since been gradually tightened, until the present form, in which shops open on Sunday is an exception rather than a rule. Within a year, several trade Sundays are designated — in 2026 there are exactly 10 of them — when large shops, hypermarkets, shopping malls and discounts can normally receive customers. On a daily basis, apart from these specified dates, however, you will make the purchase without problem at the fuel station, in the pharmacy, bakery, shop in the station or ordering online — Internet shops operate without restrictions throughout the year. It is worth knowing these rules so as not to waste time on unnecessary trips to a closed shopping mall.
