Who was Barbara Komorowska – the story of the "king yogurt"

Barbara Komorowska was one of the richest Polish women – her estate was estimated at PLN 3 billion.The fortune may seem to have come overnight, but the beginnings were extremely difficult. Together with her husband Zbigniew Komorowski and Edward Mazur, she founded Bakoma – a company producing yogurt and desserts, which today the whole country is delighted with.

The first successes came thanks to cleverness and hard work – in the 1970s the entrepreneurial couple started with growing onions on a small farm, later moonlighting on selling apples to Germany. This is how their first million marks were built.

Bakoma is only one pillar of the family holding company BZK Group. Under Barbara Komorowska, Polish Mills were also created – the largest flour producer in the country, Bioagra-Oil (biofuel) and Komagra (rape oil). The activities of the family were extended to the food industry, the hotel industry and the alcohol segment – the Komrovskis started, among others, a four-star hotel "Sun Mill" in Bydgoszcz.
