President Andrzej Duda signed an amendment to the Labour Code Act. Publicity of wages in job notices will become compulsory for 6 months from publication in the journal of laws.
Wages in job ads, what's changing?
On 18 June 2025 the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda signed the Act of 4 June 2025 amending the Labour Code Act. The purpose of the Act is to introduce a new obligation for employers into the Code. It will be mandatory to include information on the proposed remuneration in job notices.
These amendments are intended to:
- Increase transparency of wages
- Strengthening equality
- Anti-discrimination in recruitment
- Protection of the privacy of candidates for work
What new responsibilities will employers have?
Any company that publishes a job offer will have to:
- Place in the job notice the proposed remuneration (amount or forks)
- Indicate all salary components (premiums, allowances)
- Use gender-neutral position names and formulate notices so as not to discriminate against any group
- Provide information on salary also when recruitment takes place without prior official job notice
The lack of information about earnings in the announcement or proposing a lower rate than in the offer will threaten to fine from 1000 to even 30 000 PLN!
Why is it so important?
To date, only every fifth job notice has included information about the proposed salary, although most jobseekers admit that it is this issue that decides to send a CV.
When will these changes come into force?
The new rules will apply six months after the law is published in the journal. So most likely since January 2026.
The transparency of wages in job advertisements is a step that can change the Polish labour market for the better. Employers will gain more confidence in candidates, and those better feeling that they really know what they are going to do. Finally, the talk of money will cease to be taboo hidden until the final stage of recruitment.
