The Great Political Coalition The Third Way went down into history. PSL and Poland 2050 announced that in subsequent elections they would run separately. We are looking at how much of their joint agreement has been achieved and what this means for voters.
End of the Third Way – a new chapter on the political stage
The Third Road, or alliance of PSL and Poland 2050, was to be an alternative to the two largest political blocks. After a joint success in the 2023 election, the roads of both groups split. The leaders stress that the breakup was in agreement, but the decision to stand alone in the next election is already decided.
The decision of the Supreme Council of our coalition PSL on the actual completion of the Third Way project, we accept with understanding and gratitude. I understand because we agreed on a series of four elections. Gratitude, because we have both met each other's obligations, and loyalty and trust are fundamental in politics. The Polish 2050 National Council was convened at 28.06. Once again, we will reaffirm our determination to cooperate constructively with our partners in the fight for "renewal" of companies, truly public media, cheap and accessible housing, digital security of our children. In the renewed government of Coalition 15.X we will be advocates for courageous development. And the prospect of taking a stand in subsequent elections gives us a sense of genuine political joy today. – Simon Holovnia

What next with PSL and Poland 2050?
Both groups declare further cooperation in government, but in elections they will go separately. For voters, this means a greater choice, but also a risk of fragmentation of votes. The future of the Third Way shows that even ambitious alliances can only be a stage in political travel.
The breakdown of the Third Way is an important moment on the Polish political stage. Although not all the points of the joint agreement have been achieved, many of them are already in operation or are in implementation. PSL and Poland 2050 enter a new stage – separately, but with baggage of common experiences and commitments.
