In the small village Kadłub pod Strzelce Opolskimi one of the most shocking crimes of recent years in Opole took place. Early in the morning of February 26, 2026, two bodies were found in a single-family house – a 38-year-old man and an 87-year-old old lady. Both victims were killed by multiple wounds cut and chopped with an axe. The perpetrator turned out to be a 17-year-old resident of the same house – a teenager who not only planned and conducted a cold-blooded attack, but also recorded everything, and then published it online. After the crime, he escaped, but after a few hours of manhunt he was detained. The case shook the whole area and sparked a wave of discussion about domestic violence, mobbing and the limits of what people are able to do under frustration.
A 17-year-old lived at home with his victims, his great-grandmother and stepfather. There were a total of four people in the building – the fourth ex-wife of the murdered man who was in the hospital on the day of the tragedy on a planned operation and thus miraculously avoided death. According to the neighbor's accounts and preliminary investigative findings, the teenager rarely left his room, rather kept his lifestyle closed. He worked, but at his place of employment he experienced – as he later claimed – continuous mobbing from a colleague named Mirek J. It was this situation, combined with family tensions, that was to become a spark that led to tragedy.
Crime wasn't an accidental outbreak of aggression. As later revealed the recordings that the perpetrator himself published, everything was carefully prepared. First, in the garage, he was practicing with an axe – he recorded it on video, as if he wanted to make sure he mastered the tool. Then while the victims were asleep, he entered their room, set up a camera and attacked. The 38-year-old stepfather and 87-year-old great-grandmother had no chance of defending themselves. Bodies were found with numerous cut wounds – the murder weapon was most likely an axe. After all, a 17-year-old ran away from home. He was hiding in bushes in Kraplowice County, where police found him after a few hours. During his detention, he was unnaturally calm, resisted, was unarmed, and did not explain anything. That same day, his blood was taken for tox screens.
What scares the most about this case is the fact that a teenager not only recorded the crime itself, but also posted the material online. Thanks to the vigilance of the Central Bureau of Cybercrime officials who tracked down the videos, the police quickly found out about the tragedy and moved into the field. On his YouTube channel (named h3rkowskyyy), a 17-year-old posted a short film entitled "My Last Statement, It's us family, it's everyone affected by my rampage". It was in this video that he admitted everything and tried to explain motives.
In a statement that takes just over two minutes, the boy begins with the words: "Good morning, I am a family murderer. I killed two individuals in my house." He continues to admit to a series of false bomb alarms, which he has caused in recent days – among others at IMAN School, in a photographic school in Warsaw, in a hospital and in a popular Tydimi youtuber. "I won't be here anymore, this is my final statement," he says. Then he goes on to explain why he did it:
"In my work, a very one peasant called Mirek J. very me... He just pushed me, challenged me. Maybe, I don't know, maybe because I didn't know much, but it's too much for me not to really do it. So I didn't make one... and he hit me, not too hard, but he pushed and challenged me, losers. It was just beyond me. My father made me do it. This is my final statement. It's just over."
Further, the video tries to rationalize the murder: "Why can I justify the murder? In my opinion, murder is part of life. Part of human life. People used to kill each other, no problem. Today is the biggest psychopath, the killer. In my opinion, I'm not sick of anything. Now I may seem a little stressed, but I'll never kill anyone again, not even an animal." He concludes with "Goodbye. M.".
The film quickly spread online, causing tremendous outrage. The comments dominated the voices of condemnation – people wrote that instead of revenge on the stalkers from work, the boy took it out on innocent family members who gave him shelter. There have also been speculations about his mental health, appearance and views, but the investigation is just beginning.
What's the name of the perp in the hull?
Media (e.g. New Trybuna Opolska, Onet, SE.pl and others) only serve as "17-year-old Luke G." The full name is not disclosed because it is underage (it is 17 years old), and in such cases Polish law and journalism standards protect the personal data of minors.
Sometimes they just write "17-year-old man from Kadłub" or "Luke G. from Kadłub".

The Opole Police responded very quickly to the flood of drastic materials. The official profile on the X platform (formerly Twitter) includes an appeal:
"With regard to today's incident in Kadłuba, we call for refraining from publishing and sharing drastic photos and footage from the scene! In the face of the tragedy, the family of a deceased 87-year-old and 38-year-old deserves to respect their privacy. No one would want to be in a similar situation to watch a loved one die or suffer on the Internet. Respect for the dead as a result of today's crime and their loved ones is more important than any reach and slapping."
The police appeal was repeated by the media and the prosecution. Still, there were still fragments of recordings on the Internet – which only shows how difficult it is to control content on today's network. The Opole District Attorney's Office confirmed that a 17-year-old would hear charges of double homicide using a dangerous tool. He's facing a life sentence. The investigation is to determine whether he acted consciously or whether there are extenuating circumstances associated with mental state.
The Kadłub case is not just a drama of one family. This is a reminder of how mobbing at work, domestic tensions and lack of support can lead to tragedy. Neighbors say that there was no such drama – the boy was quiet, closed in. Now the whole of Poland is asking: how could this happen? And could it be prevented?
The victim's family asks for respect and silence. Police and the D.A. are calling for non-accession. And society remains shocked – because it is difficult to accept that someone so young could plan and do something so horrible, and then quietly record a statement as if they were reading the script.
This isn't the end of history. The investigation is ongoing, and the details will still come out. One thing is certain: The hull will never be the same peaceful village again. The tragedy has forever enshrined itself in the history of the region as a symbol of how close it is sometimes from daily frustration to unimaginable horror.
