The Presidential Palace has a unique meeting of the National Security Council. President-elect Karol Nawrocki, Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk jointly discuss key challenges: NATO summit in The Hague and Poland's energy security.

New opening at the National Security Council
Today's National Security Council (RCN) meeting is not just a routine meeting. For the first time in history the meeting is attended by the president-elect Karol Nawrocki, invited by Andrzej Duda. The presence of the most important people in the country underlines the importance of the subjects and signals a new stage of cooperation at the summits of power.

Poland at the NATO summit in The Hague
Priorities and challenges
The NATO summit will be held in The Hague in a few days, during which Poland intends to present its position on key security issues. The priorities include:
- Strengthening the Alliance's coherence and transatlantic ties
- Clear definition of Russia as a long-term threat
- Support for Ukraine
- Increasing defence spending by European countries
These issues are to be reflected in the final announcement of the summit, which, as the Polish representatives emphasize, should be concise but meaningful.
Energy security of Poland – challenges and investments
Resistance of the electricity system
The second pillar of the RCN is energy security. This topic became particularly important after recent network failures in Western Europe, which showed how easily infrastructure paralysis could occur. Poland focuses on:
- Development of strategic investments in energy
- Diversification of energy sources
- Strengthening the resilience of the electricity system to crises and cyber threats
Poland and EU energy policy
In recent months Poland has been actively involved in the reform of the EU energy security system. Key actions include moving away from imports of raw materials from Russia, developing renewable energy sources and simplifying regulations for investors.
| Key actions of Poland in energy | Description |
|---|---|
| Diversification of energy sources | Investments in RES, gas, atom, restriction of imports from Russia |
| Network modernisation | Strengthening infrastructure and cybersecurity |
| International cooperation | Active participation in EU and Nattarian initiatives |

Shared responsibility for the future
Today's RCN meeting shows that Poland's security is not only a matter of politicians, but a shared responsibility of all the institutions of the state. The cooperation of the President, the President-elect and the Prime Minister is a signal that in the face of global challenges Poland focuses on unity and strategic thinking.
I thank President Andrzej Duda for inviting me to the National Security Council meeting. Energy security of Poland is a pillar of sovereignty and stability of our economy. It is coal, atom and common sense – not the Green Deal written in Brussels. Poland must be energy independent! – President Elekt Karol Nawrocki
The National Security Council with the participation of Karol Nawrocki, Andrzej Duda and Donald Tusk is an important step in building a strong, resilient and modern Poland. Preparations for the NATO Summit and investments in energy security show that our country is not only responding to threats, but is actively shaping its future internationally.
