GTA 6 pre-orders pass $750 million, new Sensor Tower data shows

According to the latest update from analytics firm Sensor Tower, GTA 6 pre-order revenue passed $750 million by November 3. This is an estimate, not data from Rockstar or Take-Two, and just over two weeks remain until the November 19 release.

Sensor Tower runs a public GTA VI sales tracker, updated weekly. According to its latest data, cited among others by GRYOnline.pl and Insider Gaming, 7.71 million copies of the game had been ordered by November 3, and estimated revenue reached about $751 million. The data covers digital orders worldwide.

Split between PS5 and Xbox

The vast majority of orders go to Sony’s console. According to Sensor Tower, PS5 accounts for 74% of sales: 5.74 million copies and $559 million. Xbox Series X|S accounts for 26%, or 1.97 million copies and $192 million. As the ixbt.games site notes, these proportions did not change over the past week.

Pace of growth

In the previous reading from mid-October, the tracker showed about 6.45 million orders and $630 million. We covered it in our article on GTA 6 revenue before launch. Since then, more than $100 million and nearly 1.3 million orders have been added. Earlier readings show that on October 13 the figures were about 6 million orders and $594 million, and in August, less than two months after pre-orders opened, 4.38 million copies and $429 million.

According to ixbt.games and EGW-News, last week brought about 790 thousand new orders. While subsequent weeks add hundreds of thousands of orders, the billion-dollar threshold is not certain: GRYOnline.pl notes that it is hard to say whether the game will cross it before launch.

How much these figures are worth

These are estimates from an external company, and its methodology is not described in detail. They cover digital orders, according to ixbt.games, after accounting for refunds. Sales in physical stores and through retailers are not included, and it is unclear how the boxed version, which contains only a download code, is counted. Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not publicly confirmed any pre-order figures. Official results will only appear in Take-Two’s financial reports.

Another reference point comes from Newzoo, which according to GRYOnline.pl forecasts the game will earn nearly $5.2 billion in its launch week. This is a forecast, not a result.

What it means

For Polish players, the figures change nothing practical: the release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is scheduled for November 19, and the publisher has not announced a PC version. For the market, it is another sign of the scale of the launch, which analysts link to possible effects for other publishers, including Polish ones. We wrote about analysts’ views in our article on GTA 6 pre-orders and Polish companies. Based on its weekly rhythm, the next tracker update should appear next week.
