In the age of social media and digital platforms, where adult content generates huge revenue, we often meet with criticism of those who earn this way. One of these influencers, Lena Polanski, recently shared information on Instagram that should give all critics a lot of thought. In her short film, she revealed that she paid as much as 200 thousand PLN income tax. This is not only evidence of her financial success, but also a reminder that people like her contribute to state funding. So before we start judging "blue platform girls" – which is a euphemism for creators of content on OnlyFans – it is worth considering who really patches holes in the budget, pays for the education of our children, roads and health care.
Who's Lena Polanski?
Lena Polanski is a Polish influencer and content creator on the OnlyFans platform, where she offers exclusive materials for adults. Her career in the adult entertainment industry has gained momentum in recent years, and interviews, such as the one on YouTube, where she admitted to a million zlotys per month, show the scale of her success. Polanski does not hide that her work requires courage and entrepreneurship, but at the same time emphasizes that everything takes place legally, with a full tax settlement. The deposit of PLN 200,000 means that her income must have been very high.
Critic vs. economic reality
Platforms such as OnlyFans are often controversial. Critics accuse them of promoting erotic content, which is allegedly affecting society, especially younger generations. However, Lena Polanski's post sheds new light on this debate. "Before you start criticizing the girls from the blue platform, think about who patches holes in the budget," says the influencer, reminding that her taxes go to the common good. In Poland, the state budget is largely based on PIT, VAT and other charges. In 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance data, the income tax income on individuals amounts to hundreds of billions of PLN and finance, among others:
- Education: Schools, universities and programs for children – thanks to contributions such as the one from Polanski, the state can invest in the future of young Poles.
- Infrastructure: Building and maintaining roads, bridges and public transport, which facilitates the daily lives of millions of citizens.
- Health care: Hospitals, doctors and medicines – in times of rising health care costs, each additional measure is at the weight of gold.
If we consider that many creators on OnlyFans are self-employed people, paying full contributions to the Social Security Office and taxes, their contribution to the economy may be high. According to estimates, the digital content industry for adults generates billions of dollars globally, and in Poland more and more people account for such revenues. It's not only "fixing holes", but also stimulating GDP – as Polanski jokingly pointed out in one of the interviews: "GDP of the country is doing well thanks to shones" (referring to the word Szon – a popular term for women of light morals).
Does that change perspective?
Of course, the debate on platform ethics like OnlyFans does not end with taxes. Regulation advocates argue that better mechanisms are needed to protect against exploitation or illegal content. However, Lena Polanski's example shows that not all people in the industry are victims of the system – many are entrepreneurial women who use the digital revolution to build financial independence. Instead of quick judgment, it is worth looking at the facts: these "blue platform girls" not only earn money, but also support the state we all use.
Despite potential economic benefits, OnlyFans has many harmful aspects, both for individuals and society. The creation of content, especially women, often experiences serious mental health problems such as depression, anxiety or dependence on external validation, resulting from pressure to constantly expose the body and meet fans' expectations. The platform also facilitates sexual exploitation and trafficking in human beings, where perpetrators use it to earn from victims, leading to trauma and long-term mental damage. On the social level, OnlyFans contributes to increased loneliness, distorted views on sex and relationships, promoting a culture in which the value of a person is measured by the prism of sexuality, which particularly negatively affects young people, shaping identity problems and increasing the risk of risky behavior. As a result, although the platform offers quick profits, its dark side – including disappointment and loss of dignity – shows that human costs can outweigh financial benefits.
