The music and social media world is in shock following the tragic news of the death of Ariella La Langosta, also known as “Ariela the Lobster”, an influencer, model and close associate of rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine. Ariella died after she was fatally shot on Sunday, 17 August 2025.

Although 6ix9ine had never publicly confirmed their relationship before, after the tragedy he posted a heartfelt tribute to Ariella on Instagram. In his posts he described her as someone with the “most beautiful heart”, whose presence brightened his life. For fans, it was the first official confirmation of a close relationship between them and a huge surprise, as they had known little about Ariella until then.
Ariella was killed while returning from work, while in a vehicle, which led to speculation that Tekashi may have been the real target of the attack. So far, the authorities and family have not confirmed these details, and the circumstances of her death are being treated as suspicious.
On social media, Ariella was also mourned by another well-known rapper, Cardi B.
Who was Ariella?
Ariella La Langosta was Dominican and rose to fame as an influencer, gaining more than half a million followers on Instagram thanks to her makeup artistry, modelling and dance videos. She worked as a bartender at the popular New York club IKON and performed on stages in various places across the USA.
Ariella’s fans have widely posted condolences and expressions of sorrow under her posts and across social media.
