The Danish zoo asks you to bring unwanted pets to feed predators

The Directorate stresses that ingredients such as fur, bones or different parts of the animal's body are essential to the health of carnivores, and such a diet is the most natural. Deputy Director of Aalborg Zoo, Pia Nielsen, explains that this practice is in Denmark entirelylegaland applied for years, and the purpose of the facility is to reduce waste and to provide animals with conditions as close as possible to those in nature.

The initiative met with extremely different reactions of internet users. Many commentators expressed outrage and shock, calling the idea "makabra" and "inhuman". They argue that no sane person would give his beloved pet to become food for wild animals and that such practices should not take place in the 21st century.

Controversy in the Past

This is not the first such a loud case concerning Danish zoos. In 2014, the decision of Copenhagen Zoo to kill a young giraffe was echoed in the world. This treatment was to prevent inbreeding. Giraffe bodypublicly dismembered, and then donated to food for carnivorous animals, including lions and tigers. In the same year, the same facility killed four lions to bring a new male into the herd without finding a new place for them in other centers.

The zoo in Odense, Copenhagen, on the other hand, was famouspublic invitation of children to the autopsy of the lion, which also awakened live protests of parts of society.
