Justice after almost six years. The Lahore Supreme Court rejected the appeals of two Pakistanis convicted of beastly rape collective on a French-Pakistan tourist they made in front of her three small children.
A terrible crime occurred in September 2020 near Lahore. Woman traveling with three children She had a car malfunction. Abid Malhi and Shafqat Ali then broke the window, pulled it out by force under gun threat, and then raped it in front of terrified children. After all, she was robbed of money and valuables.
Men were detained a few days later thanks to testimony victims, phone records and DNA evidence. In March 2021, the court sentenced them to death penalty for rapekidnapping, robbery and acts of terrorism. One of them confessed to the judge.
On June 3, 2026, the Lahore Supreme Court dismissed their appeals and maintained their death sentences by hanging in force.
From the beginning, the matter was very emotional both in Pakistan and in France. The brutality of the crime and the fact that rape took place in front of three young children made it a symbol of the problem of sexual violence in Pakistan.
Both convicts are now waiting to be executed. In Pakistan, executions by hanging continue to be applied in cases of particularly serious crimes.
