Pound sterling (GBP)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,9103

People working in the UK or sending money to Poland should follow this course regularly.

Czech koruna (CZK)
Average rate NBP: PLN 0,1747
Purchase rate: 0,1729 PLN | Sales rate: PLN 0,1763

Average rate NBP: PLN 0,3914
Purchase rate: PLN 0,3894 | Sales rate: PLN 0,3972

Swiss franc stays practically the same every week — the change is minimal and does not significantly affect the replacement costs.
Looking at the last week, the picture of the currency market is mixed — The gold has slightly weakened against the euro and the dollar, while at the same time slightly gained against the pound and the franc. The biggest change in this period was the US dollar, which increased by more than 1%, which is a noticeable difference when exchanging larger amounts. Generally, gold remains relatively stable, without violent movements in any direction.
Exchange rates are derived from the official NBP table and shall apply from the date of publication until the following working day.
How to read NBP courses? Practical Guide
The NBP rates are divided into two types: the average rate (Table A) and the purchase and sales rates (Table C). The average course is the reference point — You won't pay it in the cantore, but it's a good indication of the current value of the currency. The purchase rate is the price at which the bank or currency buys your currency — So that's what you get by selling your euros or dollars. The sales rate is higher and that's how much you'll pay by buying currency — the difference between the two values is spread, i.e. the earnings of the financial institution. When planning currency exchange, always check the sales rate if you buy currency, and the purchase rate if you sell it — It will allow you to better assess whether the offer of the exchange office is favorable.

Currency Trivia of the Day
Brazilian Real (BRL) is one of those currencies that behaved extremely interestingly last week — its rate increased from PLN 0.7033 on 25 March to PLN 0.7215 today, which means a change of nearly 2.6% in just seven days. Brazil is Latin America's largest economy and its currency can be sensitive to global investment sentiments, commodity prices — especially petroleum, soya and iron ore — and the decisions of the central bank there. Although the reality rarely appears in daily exchange rate talks, for companies trading with Brazil or investors observing emerging markets it is a currency worth regular observation.
