Exchange ratesNBP – 21 kwietnia 2026

Key exchange rates today

Euro (EUR)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,2320
Buying rate: 4,1863 PLN | Sales rate: 4,2709 PLN
The euro rate today remains moderate — it has been moving from PLN 4.23 to PLN 4.25, which means relative stability. For those planning to travel to the euro area, it is worth remembering that the currency or bank will apply the sales rate, which means you will pay for the euro a little more than the average rate of NBP. When exchanging a larger amount, the difference between the purchase and sale rate may be of real importance to the travel budget.

US Dollar (USD)
Average rate NBP: PLN 3,5970
Purchase rate: PLN 3,5553 | Sales rate: PLN 3,6271
The dollar rate today is slightly backward from the levels at the beginning of the week and from the perspective of the past week is clearly lower than April 13. For people buying dollars, for example, before going to the US or making payments in that currency, the current level is slightly more affordable than last week. The spread between the purchase and sales rate is less than 7 grosz, which is a typical level for this currency pair.

Pound sterling (GBP)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,8574
Purchase rate: PLN 4,8110 | Sales rate: PLN 4,9082
Pound sterling remains the most expensive of the major European currencies in today's NBP table and remains above the level of PLN 4.85. This currency is valid for hundreds of thousands of Poles working or having families in the UK — the £1 rate directly affects the value of the funds transferred there and back. The spread between the purchase and sale rate is close to 10 cents, which is worth considering when planning the transfer.

Swiss franc (CHF)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,6098
Purchase rate: PLN 4,5588 | Sales rate: 4,6508 PLN
Swiss franc is valued at PLN 4,6098 today and has grown steadily for several days — This is a higher level than the one noted at the beginning of last week. For many Polish borrowers with liabilities in the Swiss franc, any change to this course has a direct translation into the amount of the loan instalment. The difference between buying and selling today is about nine cents.

Czech koruna (CZK)
Average rate NBP: 0.1742 PLN
Purchase rate: 0,1724 PLN | Sales rate: 0.1758 PLN
Czech Crown has hardly changed its value in a week — the course oscillates stability around the level of PLN 0.174. It is a useful currency before each trip to the Czech Republic, where, despite geographical proximity, we recommend checking the current exchange rates before exchanging cash.

Norwegian krone (NOK)
Average rate NBP: PLN 0,3850
Purchase rate: 0,3810 PLN | Sales rate: PLN 0,3886
The Norwegian krona is currently PLN 0.3850, which ranks it close to the upper levels of last week. Norway remains a popular business destination for Poles, therefore the NOK course is worth following regularly on digitalnexus.pl.

Swedish krona (SEK)
Average rate NBP: PLN 0,3929
Purchase rate: PLN 0,3892 | Sales rate: PLN 0,3970
The Swedish krona is today slightly more expensive than the Norwegian krona and oscillates around PLN 0.3929. The rate remains stable compared to previous days, which gives relative predictability to those planning to exchange that currency.

How did the exchange rates change last week?

Euro (EUR)
Course today: PLN 4,2320 | Course 7 days ago: 4,2507 PLN | Amendment: -0.0187 PLN (-0.44%)
Euros lost in value to gold — The gold has slightly strengthened in relation to the single European currency.

US Dollar (USD)
Course today: PLN 3,5970 | Course 7 days ago: 3,6374 PLN | Amendment: -0.0404 PLN (-1.11%)
The dollar has clearly stood in the last week — The gold has strengthened against the American currency by more than one percent, which is a noticeable movement.

Pound sterling (GBP)
Course today: PLN 4,8574 | Course 7 days ago: 4,8845 PLN | Change: -0.0271 PLN (-0.55%)
Pound sterling slightly lost value to gold over the past week — Gold has strengthened against British currency.

Swiss franc (CHF)
Course today: PLN 4,6098 | Course 7 days ago: 4,6021 PLN | Change: +0.0077 PLN (+0.17%)
Swiss franc as the only major European currency slightly paid for gold in the past week — However, the change is minimal and within the limits of normal market fluctuations.

Looking at the whole past week, gold has clearly gained above all against the US dollar, which has sunk by more than 1%, and to a lesser extent has also strengthened against the euro and pound sterling. The only exception was the Swiss franc, which retained its value and even marginally increased it. In general, the last days have brought a delicate strengthening of the gold, which may be beneficial information for those planning to purchase goods or services denominated in USD or EUR.

Exchange rates are derived from the official NBP table and shall apply from the date of publication until the following working day.

How to read NBP courses? Practical Guide

The NBP rates are divided into two types: the average rate (Table A) and the purchase and sales rates (Table C). The average course is the reference point — It is published by the National Bank of Poland every working day and serves, among others, for accounting, tax and foreign currency invoices. However, if you go to a currency or bank to buy Euros or Dollars, you will pay a sales rate that is higher than average — It's a money exchange on a transaction. When you sell currency (e.g. when you return from abroad), you will receive a purchase rate that is lower than average. The smaller the difference between the purchase rate and the spread rate, the more favourable the offer to the customer — It is therefore worth comparing the offers of different currency exchangers, especially with larger amounts.
