One of two soldiers killed during night parachute training was Karol Rubin from Orzysz. In everyday service he was a Special Forces soldier and an operator of the elite GROM unit, as well as an outstanding martial arts competitor.
The commando died alongside a second Polish soldier during night parachute exercises in the United States. It is a great loss for the Polish military and the combat sports community, where Karol was enormously respected.
The families of the fallen have been given full support, and the Ministry of National Defence and the General Command assure that the situation is under constant control. This tragedy is a reminder of how dangerous and demanding the life of a Special Forces soldier is, as they risk their lives for the security of the country.
