A tragic attack at the University Hospital
On Tuesday, around 10:30, a 35-year-old man entered the orthopedic clinic of the University Hospital at Jakubowskiego Street. There was a doctor's appointment with another patient in the office. Unexpectedly, the attacker attacked the doctor with a sharp instrument, giving him numerous blows to the chest, abdomen, and legs and arms.
Quick reaction, tragic finale
The hospital security immediately showed up, which captured the aggressor, passing him to the police. The doctors immediately undertook a fight for the life of an injured colleague – the operation lasted over two hours. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the medical team, the life of a 40-year-old orthopedic failed to save.
Who was the attacker? What do we know about motives?
According to preliminary findings, the unsub was a patient in the orthopaedic clinic. Hospital director Marcin Jędrychowski reported that the man was dissatisfied with the treatment, and his case was handled by the Ombudsman. However, no abnormalities were found in the treatment of the physician.
Police and the Kraków-Podgórze District Attorney's Office are investigating the murder. The activities involving the suspect are to continue in the coming days.

This tragic event has sparked a wave of comments in the medical community. The President of the Chief Medical Council, Łukasz Jankowski, stressed that aggression towards doctors is becoming increasingly common and is affecting the security of the entire medical staff.
