The shocking murder of a doctor at the University Hospital in Krakow touched not only public opinion but also the most important politicians in the country. Their statements show how serious they are about both the tragedy and the safety of medical personnel.
President Andrzej Duda: "Uninformed tragedy"
One of the first people to address the event was President Andrzej Duda. In an emotional entry on the X platform, he wrote:
"It is difficult to find words to express regret about the unconcerned tragedy that occurred today at the University Hospital in Kraków. My thoughts are with the closest, friends and associates of the murdered doctor. Thank you to all who have been carrying and bringing help in this terrible event. I join in prayer for the peace of the soul of the Dead."

She stressed that violence against life-saving people is barbaric and deserves the highest penalty. She also offered her condolences to the family and coworkers of the murdered.
Although Rafał Trzaskowski, the President of Warsaw and the candidate for President of the Republic of Poland did not publish a separate entry immediately after the tragedy in Krakow, he repeatedly stressed the importance of security in Polish cities and public institutions. In one of his last speeches, he said:
"We all need to feel safe; it is not only a geopolitical situation, but also a security situation in our city, town, village, family."
Trzaskowski often stresses that the responsibility for security lies with the state and local authorities. It indicates that any emergency situation, especially in public areas, requires immediate and decisive response.
