Stanislaw Soyka is dead. Artist died at the age of 66

Stanisław Sojka is an outstanding Polish musician, singer, pianist, violinist, composer and arranger. He died at age. 66 years old.

Soyka was born on 26 April 1959 in Żory. He was a versatile artist, performing music in various styles such as jazz, pop, soul, singing poetry and classical music. His characteristic voice and artistic sensitivity made him one of the most prominent interpreters of the Polish song. In his career, he collaborated with many excellent musicians, and his achievements include several dozen albums.

Stanisław Soyka was to perform during the fourth day festival in Sopot, however, he did not appear on stage due to severe medical incapacity. According to unofficial information, during rehearsal before the concert he fainted and was transported to the hospital. He was about to have a heart attack, resulting in his death despite the efforts of doctors. Due to the information received about his death, TVN aborted transmission from the festival, and artists and organizers expressed their sympathy to the family and loved ones.

In recent years, Soyka has struggled with serious health problems, including type II diabetes, which he openly talked about. He introduced health-related changes in his life, including lost about 30 kg, but despite these efforts his health condition did not allow him to continue his activity.

Among Soyka's best-known and respected albums are "Blublula" (1981), "Sojka and Allegro" (1987), "Acoustic" (1991) and "Roman Triptych" (2003), which is a musical interpretation of John Paul II's poetry. Among his most popular songs are songs such as "Tolerance" (originally "Hard to Part"), "You are light", "Never Again", "Fa na na na" or "The Miracle of Memory".
