Homeless actor Nickelodeon Tylor Chase. A story of falling and hoping to return to normal.

Tylor Chase, once a promising star of children's cinema and television, went from the glow of Hollywood flashes to a dramatic fight against homelessness and addiction. Born on September 6, 1989 in Arizona, Chase began his acting career as a teenager, gaining recognition thanks to the role of Martin Qwerly in the popular television series Nickelodeon "Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide", (2004-2007).

This show, which talks about school's peripeties, attracted millions of young viewers, and Chase became one of the favorites of the audience.

His career picked up pace in the early 2000s. In addition to "Ned’s Declassified", he appeared in other productions such as the series "Everybody Hates Chris" (2005) and the film "Good Time Max" (2007). At the age of 15, he played roles that predicted a great future in show business. However, after completing these projects, Chase gradually withdrew from acting. It later turned out that behind the scenes there was a fight against serious health problems.

Chase struggled with drug addiction, as well as diagnosed bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. In 2021 his father arranged for him to stay at a rehabilitation center in Georgia, but the actor rejected help and moved to California. There his situation deteriorated dramatically – in 2025, at the age of 36, Chase became homeless, wandering the streets of Riverside. He collected butts and scraps, living in extreme poverty.

The breakthrough occurred in September 2025 when a viral video on TikToku showed Chase in a dire state. On a video that quickly went online, someone recognizes him in a parking lot outside a Chinese restaurant and offers money, asking, "Why are you on the street?" Chase confirms his identity, mentioning Nickelodeon.

The film sparked a wave of compassion and mobilised relatives and former collaborators to act.

Among those who moved with help was Daniel Curtis Lee, a colleague of the "Ned's Declassified" plan who paid for his motel room – unfortunately, Chase trashed it. Shaun Weiss, a friend and former actor from "Mighty Ducks", also committed himself, sharing his own experience with addiction. The key role was played by influencer Jake Harris, who contacted Chase’s family and spent over an hour talking to him. Despite initial resistance, Chase said, "I like my life as it is," Harris organized a crisis intervention.

On Christmas 2025 Chase went to a hospital in southern California for 72-hour detox and treatment. Harris announced: "In the end, we were able to provide the help he needed. He is currently receiving medical care to recover. The future looks bright." After hospitalization, a stay in the rehabilitation centre is planned, which gives hope for a new beginning.

Tylor Chase’s story is a sad reminder of the dark side of the fame of children’s stars. Hollywood often forgets its idols when the spotlights go out, but in this case the community of fans and friends has shown that it is not too late to save.
