Exchange rates on the Polish market are today in line with the National Bank of Poland's quotations, opening another day of activity on the exchange market. The Euro is worth PLN 4.2524 and the US dollar costs PLN 3.6336 — the levels which may affect the decisions of any person planning to leave or send money abroad. Of the entire basket of exchangeable currencies, the pound of sterling, which today reaches one of the higher levels in recent days, pays particular attention. If you are looking for reliable data to decide on the changeover, you are exactly where you should — Here is a detailed analysis of today's NBP courses.
# The most important exchange rates today
Euro (EUR)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,2524
Purchase rate: 4,2055 PLN | Sales rate: 4,2905 PLN
The euro remains solid, close to the average of the last week. For the person planning to change the euro in the cantore, the difference between the purchase and sale rate is approximately 85 grosz per hundred euro — such spread is typical of the market and results from the exchange rate. If you are planning to go to the euro area in the coming days, it is worth following the exchange rates in several candidates, because the differences between them may be significant.
US Dollar (USD)
Average rate NBP: PLN 3,6336
Purchase rate: PLN 3,5851 | Sales rate: PLN 3,6575
The dollar is today at PLN 3.63, which means that you will pay between PLN 3.59 and PLN 3.66. The dollar rate remains relatively stable in recent days, suggesting a lack of greater turbulence on the USD/PLN market. For importers and consignors money stability to the United States is very important information.
Pound sterling (GBP)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,9141
Purchase rate: PLN 4,8437 | Sales rate: PLN 4,9415
The pound sterling today shows by far the highest rate among the major currencies, oscillating nearly PLN 4.91. For those travelling to the UK, this information is worth paying attention to — Exchange of pound is always relatively expensive for the Polish portfolio. In cantors, the difference between buying and selling reaches nearly 98 cents per hundred pounds.
Swiss franc (CHF)
Average rate NBP: PLN 4,6446
Purchase rate: 4,5844 PLN | Sales rate: PLN 4,6770
Swiss franc remains one of the more "cost" currencies expressed as gold — over PLN 4.64 per franc. If you plan to travel to Switzerland or need francs for another purpose, remember that it is a currency that traditionally holds high value to gold due to the stability of the Swiss economy.
Czech koruna (CZK)
Average rate NBP: PLN 0,1747
Purchase rate: 0.1730 PLN | Sales rate: 0,1764 PLN
Czech krona is listed below PLN 0.18, making it a relatively cheap currency in terms of gold. For traveling to the Czech Republic or buying Czech products the course is beneficial — You will pay about PLN 17.47 for a hundred crowns.
Norwegian krone (NOK)
Average rate NBP: PLN 0,3957
Purchase rate: 0,3907 PLN | Sales rate: PLN 0,3985
The Norwegian krona remains at around PLN 0,40, which is the standard level for this currency. Although Norway does not belong to the euro area, the Norwegian krona is actively exchanged in Polish cantors due to the number of Poles working in Scandinavia.
Swedish krona (SEK)
Average rate NBP: PLN 0,3901
Purchase rate: PLN 0,3853 | Sales rate: PLN 0,3931
The Swedish krona is slightly below the Norwegian krona, at the level of PLN 0.39. These are currencies with similar odds, but it is worth remembering that Norwegian is always slightly more expensive. For those who exchange large amounts, the difference may be apparent.

How do you read the NBP courses? Practical Guide
The exchange rates published by the NBP appear in three forms and each has different applications. Medium course (mid) is a theoretical course that NBP uses to recommend — it shows the "fair value" of a given currency against gold, but in the canto you will not get exactly this course. The bid rate is the price at which the currency can be purchased from you — It's always lower than average because the cantor has to earn. Sales rate (ask) is the price for which the currency can be sold — always higher than average. The difference between buying and selling is the margin of the cantor, and it's what it makes. When you go to the cantor with euras, you get a purchase course (lower). When you want to buy a euro, you pay the sales rate (higher). In practice: look for a currency with the smallest difference between the two courses — It means a smaller margin and a better offer for your pocket.

# Curiosity of the day
Did you know that Japanese yen is one of the cheapest currencies in relation to gold despite that Japan has one of the world's largest economies? For one yen you will pay only PLN 0.023 today — That's almost half a penny. This is because the currency is divided into 100 dreams, and historically the Japanese currency has never had as high nominal value as the euro or dollar. For tourists travelling to Japan, however, this means that prices in yen always look impressive — The four-digit sum is the norm, but in terms of gold, it's perfectly reasonable.
