Tatiana Celia Kennedy Schlossberg, granddaughter of U.S. President John F. Kennedy and daughter of Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg, died at the age of 35 after a heroic fight against acute myelogenous leukaemia. She received her diagnosis in 2024, just hours after her second daughter was born, as she described in a moving essay published in The New Yorker in November 2025. Schlossberg, born in 1990, was a talented journalist and writer specializing in environmental protection. She worked as a reporter for the "New York Times", where she wrote about climate change, sustainable development and human influence on the planet.
Her career also included the 2019 book "Inconspicuous Consumption: The Environmental Impact You Don’t Know You Have" in which she analyzed hidden consumption costs for the environment. Tatiana was known for criticizing policies promoted by her uncle, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., especially on public health issues. Her death is another tragedy in the Kennedy family, which has been struggling with disasters for years. Close and friends mention her as an intelligent, committed activist who inspired the fight for a better world. The world of journalism has lost a unique voice in defense of nature.
