In Pattaya (Thailand) there was a gruesome killing of a 17-year-old girl. Her body was found in a suitcase. Police detains 40-year-old Australian Simon Peter Carman, who has been charged, among others, with murder and sexual abduction of minors.

The man was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, just before leaving for Australia. Key evidence in the case came from surveillance recordings – cameras recorded Carman entering the apartment building with a girl, and a few hours later he leaves alone, carrying a suitcase. He later moved her to the vicinity of the railway line.

"It was beyond my control"

During the hearing, the Australian turned to his family victims the words:

"I'm sorry about what happened to your daughter. It was beyond my control."

The girl's family is devastated. A 17-year-old girl's father admitted that he was struggling to accept her death. The teen stepmother demands the most severe punishment for the suspect – the death penalty.

The case shook Thailand. Police He's still investigating, and Carman is to stand trial in Pattaya.

A tragedy that shouldn't have happened.
