On 12 May 2026, Stanisław Celińska died in Warsaw – one of the most valued Polish theatre, film and singers.
The artist's death was first reported to her by longtime manager Maciej Murasko.
Stanisława Celińska was born April 29, 1947 in Warsaw. A graduate of PWST in Warsaw (1969) for decades has delighted viewers with its characteristic hoarseness, extraordinary charisma and authenticity. She made her debut for the role in "Dziady" at the National Theatre, and later created dozens of unforgettable creations in films by Krzysztof Zanussi, Stanisław Barei, Andrzej Wajda and in series.
She was a two-time winner Eagle for the best supporting female roles ("money is not everything" and "Joanna"). In later years she survived the great artistic Renaissance as a singer – her albums "Attractive" and "Faith" gained great popularity.
Celine spoke openly about her fight against alcoholism, life's downfalls and return. She has always remained honest and direct – both on stage and outside.
In recent years, despite her health problems (e.g. strong back pains) she has continued to play in the series "Colors of Happiness" and toured.
Polish culture has lost great individuality. Condolences for family and loved ones flow from all sides – from acting, music, to thousands of ordinary viewers.
Rest in peace, Mrs. Stasiu. ❤️
